“Every church needs to be able to answer two questions. One, do we have a plan for making disciples? Two, does our plan work?”
– Dallas Willard
Life groups are where and how we do life together. Where we intentionally ‘make disciples’ of Jesus. Doing life together in small groups rather than just in a large gathering is how the early followers of Jesus authentically lived out their faith. It was a way of life. A way of life that communicated a message of hope. A way of life that equipped the followers of Jesus to become more like him. Life Groups are where we make disciples.
It is in small groups that people can get close enough to know each other, to care and share, to challenge and support, to confide and confess, to forgive and be forgiven, to laugh and weep together, to be accountable to each other, to watch over each other and to grow together.
Personal growth does not happen in isolation.
It is the result of interactive relationships. Small groups are God’s gift to foster changes in character and spiritual growth.
